Finishing up

Hello, everyone.

I haven't posted any news on itch.io regarding Desolation 2 in 5 months.  It's long overdue that you hear some updates.

I completely changed the flow of the gameplay. There's no real free-roam mode, but more like a point-n-click free roam thing. When I say that, think of Five Nights at Freddy's 4, with how the player moves around in the bedroom but its animation based and not via input. Desolation 2 will follow that type of flow.

I scratched off one of the planned implementations from the final product, which in short was supposed to be a way to indirectly fend off the threat throughout the night. This feature did not fit with the current gameplay setting and would've only made things more complicated.

The only thing I have left to do is modelling the actual antagonist of the game. If you noticed in Desolation 1, there are drawings scattered on the walls, and one of them feature a more friendly version of the character that becomes this game's antagonist. Desolation 1 is surprisingly hard to beat, but it's worth completing it, you may get a surprise. I kinda scattered the "lore" or lack thereof around there somewhere, but I think just the gameplay for this sequel in Desolation 2 will provide some good clarity.

I attached some pictures of what the new gameplay is gonna be like. (Note: the one with a closer view of the door is not actual gameplay footage)

Thanks for reading!
